Activity #4: Classic Advertisement Evaluation

*Type of Propaganda*
The type of propaganda is Direct Order and Bandwagon. I chose Direct order because the subtitles or the words on the poster is trying to make women take action. Its trying to make women join the army and show that they could be just as strong as the men. I chose bandwagon because since everybody else is joining the army maybe "everybody" should as well.

*Point out explicit and implicit messages and values the propaganda advertises or endorses*
Implicit messages- That women can be as strong as men to join the navy.
Explicit messages- The messages is tyring to convince women to join the army.

*Discuss the propaganda intended audiences*
The viewers is targeting young women to join the navy.

*How might have the technological characteristics form of the propaganda impacted the its message and reception?*
When I look at this poster, I see that the words have more on impact because they're trying to convince the people to join the navy. I think when young women look at this back in the day, they would probably join the army.

-English translation-
"If you start a war of invasion, We shall destroy the American Bastard first!"
A recent North Korean posters against America

*Types of Propaganda*
The type of propaganda that its used is Appeal to Fear and Scapegoating. I chose these types of propaganda because the Korean is attacking the White house. You see the missiles coming at the White house, as an Hmong American I think that its a very scary feeling to happen.  The Korean wants to blame the Americans for the war and also try to create some attention to blame on the American.

*Point out explicit and implicit messages and values the propaganda advertises or endorses*
Implicit message- The North Korean are upset at American.
Explicit message- The missiles is heading at the White House and the United States of America flag is destroyed.

*Discuss the propaganda intended audiences*
I think the propaganda is aiming toward American people.

*How might have the technological characteristics form of the propaganda impacted the its message and reception?*
I think it impacted the American people because the text had a way of making the viewers upset and the pictures explain everything about the anger the North Koreans felt for the American.
